Project: VAS – Vehicle Availability System
Year: 2025
Duration: Ongoing
Headline Story: From Chaos to Clarity: JoyRide Streamlines Fleet Visibility with VAS
Project Snapshot
JoyRide Logistics needed a smarter, faster way to manage capacity. Juggling spreadsheets, email threads, and manual updates was slowing down dispatch, sales, and brokerage teams. In response, Orior Media helped develop VAS, a purpose-built, web-first platform that transformed JoyRide’s internal truck tracking into a centralized, real-time control center.
The Challenge
Before VAS, capacity management was a fragmented mess. Spreadsheets lived on shared drives. Availability updates were lost in Slack threads or forgotten emails. Dispatchers spent hours on redundant tasks, and sales had zero insight into which shippers were engaging. The system didn’t scale—and mistakes were costly.
Our Solution
We built VAS from the ground up as a modular, web-based platform designed for speed, clarity, and scale. At its core, VAS replaces dozens of manual steps with a clean interface, live data, and one-click actions that sync operations, sales, and brokerage.
Key modules include:
- Vehicle Board – A real-time dashboard showing every tractor’s availability, sortable by filters like origin, length, and status.
- Quick Actions – Add, edit, roll forward, or expire units in seconds.
- Email Blast Tool – Filter your list, click once, and instantly send capacity updates to brokers or shippers.
- Email Tracking – See who opens and clicks, clean bounced addresses, and prioritize follow-up.
- User Management – Role-based access with audit logs for growing teams.
- CRM-lite Contact Table – Store, search, import/export broker and shipper contacts, all in one place.
Real-Life Workflow
A typical JoyRide dispatcher logs into VAS and immediately sees the full fleet by availability status. They filter by “Phoenix” and “Available,” select two units, and send a blast to their Phoenix dry-van list. Within minutes, tracking shows who opened or clicked. Once booked, they expire the truck to keep the board clean. On Fridays, they duplicate trucks to pre-fill next week’s starting capacity—done in under 10 minutes.
The Outcome
VAS didn’t just streamline operations. It became the single source of truth for JoyRide’s entire fleet strategy.
Key results:
- Zero double-bookings and reduced deadhead
- Weekly planning time cut by over 70%
- Lead follow-up now driven by real email engagement
- Secure, role-based user access across a growing ops team
- Scalable architecture, ready for 250+ trucks and future automation
“VAS gave us something we never had before—total visibility and total control. It’s fast, intuitive, and makes dispatch and sales feel like they’re finally in sync.”
