Client: JoyRide Logistics, LLC

Program Timeline: January 2024 – Present

Overview

JoyRide Logistics, a rapidly growing regional carrier with headquater in Chandler, AZ, implemented Orior Media’s Driver Retention Program (DRP) to reduce turnover, improve operational performance, and create alignment across departments. Over the span of 18 months, the company achieved notable operational and financial improvements, setting a benchmark for performance-based driver retention.

The Company

JoyRide Logistics, LLC operates a 250-truck fleet with four terminals across Arizona, Nevada, and California. Amid rapid expansion, JoyRide faced increasing pressure to manage driver performance more effectively across departments that were traditionally siloed (Safety, Operations, and Maintenance).

The Challenge

Like many carriers, JoyRide faced industry-wide turnover rates of up to 90% annually, leading to high recruitment costs.

Key Issues:

  • Disconnected data across departments created conflicting performance evaluations.
  • Inconsistent incentive structures failed to reward drivers transparently and fairly.
  • Lack of real-time performance visibility led to bonus disputes and disengagement.

The Solution: Driver Retention Program (DRP)

Orior Media introduced a tailored Driver Retention Program designed to align departments and motivate drivers through transparency, automation, and reward-driven performance.

System Design:

Tiered Incentive Levels:

  • Elite, Level 1, Level 2 – reset monthly to avoid legacy penalties.

Weighted Scoring (30 Points):

  • Safety: 20 pts
  • Operations: 5 pts
  • Maintenance: 5 pts

Live Dashboard Access:

  • Drivers can view scores, bonus eligibility, and progress via mobile, tablet, or desktop.

Admin Portal:

  • Cross-departmental grading with auto-generated performance reports.

Data Integration

Samsara ELD Feed:

  • Real-time performance data captured automatically.

API-Ready:

  • Easily integrable with other ELD and TMS platforms with minimal IT burden.

The Results

After 18 months of consistent implementation, JoyRide achieved significant improvements across all key performance metrics:

MetricImprovement
Driver Retention+35% Increase
Controllable Fleet Costs-23% Reduction
Driver Efficiency+11% Improvement
Total Operating Expenses-6% Annual Savings

“Integrating the DRP across Safety, Operations, and Maintenance has not only boosted driver morale, it’s helped us reduce preventable issues and cut costs by 6% annually. It’s a win across the board.” – Joyce Brezina, Head of Safety, JoyRide Logistics

Conclusion

By adopting the Driver Retention Program, JoyRide Logistics successfully addressed one of the industry’s most persistent problems, driver turnover, while simultaneously optimizing internal performance and lowering costs. The DRP now stands as a core part of their operational playbook as they continue scaling with purpose and precision.
